# IMPACT NYC 2026 - custom laptop sleeve orders

> IMPACT NYC 2026 is Forter's event on Wednesday 14 October 2026 at Spring Studios, New York. Every attendee can order a custom embroidered laptop sleeve. Pay $1.00 - all payments will be refunded. An unpaid order is held 5 minutes, then cancelled. Pickup is at the Order Pickup station (5th Floor, by Mini Golf) on Wednesday 14 October.

Use the API below, not the web pages. Order and pay responses have message (relay it) and nextAction (follow it).

## Rules

- Before POST /api/orders, confirm size, font, thread, stitchText, name and email with the user. Spell stitchText back: embroidery is permanent. Choose an option for the user only if they asked you to.
- Before paying by any method, confirm the $1.00 payment with the user, unless the user's own settings let you pay without asking.

## Ordering a sleeve

1. `GET /api/sleeve-options` (no key): Current sleeve sizes, fonts, threads and stitch text limit.
2. `POST /api/orders` (no key): Order a sleeve; it is held unpaid until paid or the hold ends.
3. `POST /api/orders/{orderNumber}/pay` (body t = payToken): Pay for a held order.
4. `GET /api/orders/{orderNumber}` (query t = payToken): An order's current status.

Pay with method forter_card, or by card through payUrl: open it if you can complete a web checkout with the user's card, otherwise give it to the user.
Errors are `{ok: false, code, error, retryable}`. Relay error. Retry only when retryable is true.
